DOROTHY: TAKE 2

So here is "Dorothy 2" I've already apologized to her and told her now that she is in our hands, her time is probably short. That's what she gets for being the prettiest fish at Meijers!

SNOW FUN

This is my favorite tree in our yard. I'm so nervous it's going to snap. I don't want to lose this one!
After our snow fun, we made some Snow Ice Cream. It actually was really good!
Preston & Daddy adding the vanilla.

Once Preston spotted the airplane, I couldn't get his attention.
Yes, the purple mittens are back this year. I bought him brown gloves, but he screamed when I put them on, so back to the girlie mittens.

Messy, but beautiful! Preston got a chance to enjoy his birthday present, a sled.

BABY KIST CHECK UP

Last week, Baby Kist had a check up. He/She is doing well! I've seen so many specialists lately, it was nice to be surrounded by "normal" pregnant ladies. It certainly eases my anxiety a little. We heard a beautiful little heartbeat. It still brings tears to my eyes that this has finally happened for us. We finally mentioned something to Preston about their being a baby in mommy's belly. He just looked at us like we were crazy and moved on :) What can we expect from a 2 year old!

DON'T TELL PRESTON...

I already killed off Dorothy :( I was warned to clean out her bowl every week, but it just didn't look dirty, so I waited and then she croaked on me. I told Preston she was sleeping. That's the great thing about 2 year olds, they'll believe anything you tell them. We are on a mission to replace "Dorothy" before he questions where she is!

KEVUM!

Preston continues to make us laugh about something new everyday! He has figured out that when "Dada' doesn't work, he can yell "Kevum" to get his Daddy's attention. It's so funny, it works!

2 YEAR CHECK UP

Yesterday Preston had his 2 year check up. He did a great job for the doctor until he gets to his least favorite part, the part where he has to lie down, he knows nothing good happens when he has to lie back! Poor guy, but only 1 shot. He was a trooper. As expected, he continues to be our "little giant!" He was 90% in height and 70% in weight for his age percentile. He's a busy little guy!

3+ 1 = 4

Kevin, Preston & I are thrilled to announce that we will be growing to a family of four in August. We are so excited to meet the special little guy/girl that God has so carefully chosen for us. Thank you so much to our family & friends who have been praying for us. We will keep you posted on Baby Kist. I think Preston will make an excellent big brother!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRESTON

When Kevin sat down to work on the computer, Preston ran and got his birthday present to be just like Daddy!
My parents and Jason's family came over on Dec. 30 to celebrate Preston's official birthday.
Yummy Elmo cake. Nothing like red icing!
Blowing out his candle.
Thanks for the basketball goal Grammy & Papaw.
My new nephew, Brooks!
When my nephew Beardsley turned 2, he loved Elmo as well, so for his birthday we got him a "Dorothy." My brother told us he would pay us back one day when he was hiding a dead goldfish from his son. Well, 3 years later and their "Dorothy" is still kicking! Amazing! I killed 3 fish at our house in that time. So here is our payback. Preson got a "Dorothy." At least he probably won't notice when "Dorothy" is sleeping at the top of her bowl :)
Here is my Elmo masterpiece. I had red hands by the time I was finished.
Here is Preston's other birthday present. He hasn't really showed too much interest in trains just yet, but we got such a great deal, we couldn't pass it up.
We need Sam & Jackson to come over and show Preston how to play trains. Preston's idea of playing trains is putting all the pieces in the drawer one by one (and you have to open the drawer up each time!) and then getting them back out.

Preston is enjoying a birthday dinner of McDonalds.
Mom couldn't resisit getting her birthday boy a balloon at the grocery.
It's your birthday! Time to get up!

PRESTON'S PARTY

I've gotten a tad bit behind on my blogging, but I'm attempting to catch up. We invited our families over to celebrate Preston & Kevin's birthday. Here is Kevin playing with his birthday present...Guitar Hero.
I can't believe my little guy is 2. What did I ever do without him?
Preston & his cousin, Buerk checking out his new remote control car.
Grandpa Kist, Karen & Jacob
Preston got so many great new toys.

Preston has never really cared for juice, but put it in a box with a straw and it's good stuff!

We had a hot dog bar with all the toppings and Preston's other favorite foods: pickles, broccoli, dip & chips!

I made 2 special cakes for Kevin & Preston
I made Elmo cupcakes for the party.
Thanks to everyone for making the road trip to help Preston celebrate! We love you!

CHRISTMAS WITH THE ROSEBERRY'S

Christmas with my family was out of sorts this year, but for a wonderful reason. My new nephew (Brooks) decided he would like to be here for Christmas, instead of his January 18th estimated arrival date. Brooks was 6lbs & 4 oz & 19 inches long. He was a sturdy little guy for being so early. He has been in the 3N nursery (where Preston stayed for a week) until recently this week. We are all so excited to meet him.
Grammy & Papaw now have 4 grandsons!

Beardsley & Buerk were excited to have a new brother...but more excited about the presents.
